Have not had much time to this sort of stuff lately, but lets see if I can get in the hang of this again.

For about the 6th game in a row the Buffalo Sabres played a solid game, but the bounces finally went their way as they get a well deserved 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Viewpoints:

Best 1st period they have played all season. Guys were flying all over, finishing their checks and causing chaos in the Montreal end. Forwards were especially physical, mainly Drew Stafford and Daniel Paille.

Clarke MacArthur should start looking for housing, because I dont think he is going to see Rochester anytime soon. He is making a real case for himself to be here full time. Great game for him all around and his 2 goals were hard working goals. he will make it tough to sit someone once Connolly and Mair return from injuries.

Thomas Vanek had his best overall game in a while. he didn't get a goal, but he single handedly set up Staffords and was a force all over, including physically. He will get it going eventually.

D looked very together and focused tonight. Ryder's goal was a result of fatigue, but they were solid 1-6 tonight. Pratt is paying dividends on the score sheet as well, which is a nice surprise.

Couple negatives:

If Mike Ryan had hands, he may be able to score 20 goals at least in this league. He works hard and had several good chances but could not finish. Been the same story for the past 3-4 games. He could be in trouble when the forwards get healthy.

But sloppy at times in the 2nd and 3rd, but attribute that more to fatigue. They now get a good 4 days off before Ottawa comes to town on Wednesday and 2 more games against these Canadiens late next week.
