Roenick on PTI

Posted Wednesday | Comments 1
Jeremy Roenick was on ESPN's PTI yesterday which was kind of refreshing. While I like Kornheiser and Wilbon a lot, their complete lack on interest in hockey is a huge punch in the gut to me as a sports fan let alone a hockey fan. JR was... well JR, I liked the way he poked fun at the two for actually talking about hockey for once. The PTI guys said something interesting...
Every year different NHL teams try to make an off season move that will change the shape of their franchise for the better, but sometimes we see the general managers of these respected teams hitting their heads over a desk asking "Why?". I've made a list of five players who, this season, didn't come as advertised and instead get paid for having a big name and nothing else....

Que Sera Sera

Posted Wednesday | Comments 0
I have always looked at this time of the year with mixed emotions. While it is exciting as a hockey fan to see teams retool, rebuild, or reinvent themselves, it is also a time of frustration, anger, and sadness. I am frustrated that my Blackhawks may still suck for yet another season because the ownership is cheaper than my little Italian Grandfather. And that is damned...

"I'm Not Dead Yet!"

Posted Monday | Comments 0
I'm guessing that it is a safe bet that I wouldn't want to be Timmy P from the Philly Enquirer today. If I was a real bitch, I'd email him (again) and remind him (again) that Roenick's text message retirement announcement was never confirmed. But I'll be a good girl. I'll just email him the article from The Hockey News instead. And it must be a full moon, the Ariz...

Color Me Confused

Posted Thursday | Comments 0
I am not one to pin too much hope on rumors, hockey or otherwise. I have learned, over the years, to expect the worst. When it doesn't happen, I can be pleasantly surprised. But now I'm just confused, and it's EK's fault. Every morning, I faithfully check the Rumor Chart. I check out all of the Ex-Coyotes, I check on the current Coyotes up for contract renewal. But f...
Before I start, let me just say that last night I was so starved for hockey, I [img:right]http://nhldraftnet.aol.com/NHLDraftNet/file.php?ID=237[/img]watched The Mighty Ducks Two. For all of you movie buffs out there, its definitely not better the second time around. Emilio Estevez's struggle with fame and sponsorships was not a gripping tale. You're coaching pee wee hocke...

The Sharks New Old Guy !

Posted Wednesday | Comments 0
Alright snap out of it people. Yes , the San Jose Sharks did sign Jeremy Roenick. Many are asking Why ?, Where will he fit in ?, Can he still play ? The answers to those questions are..... Why ? Plain and simple, "Veteran Presence". This is something San Jose has lacked. Not to say they have not had quality vets on the team in the past, but a 9 time All Star, ...

Time for a Break

Posted Tuesday | Comments 0
San Jose will be spending the next 3 days bonding. Last nights win was a much needed complete effort from our boys in teal. As the Sharks prepare for Fridays game in Detroit, the team is doing some work off the rink. The team will spend the next 3 days in Banff, singing campfire songs and roasting marshmallows, as they look to gel together as a team. This Sharks team posse...

The Winds of Change

Posted Tuesday | Comments 2
We can all feel the chill. The winds are blowing through San Jose, trade winds, fire the coach winds, benching winds, demoting winds, and the winds of resolve. Something must be done. Sharks fans are nearing the edge of their patience. Who is to blame for the lackluster start? Why did this team look so good on paper and in the preseason? Who must be held accountable for th...
Hey guys! I have been wanting to do this for some time now, and after last nights talkcast I decided to go with something that made some kind of sense. It is just a name change so the blogs will still keep coming. I have not switched favorite teams or changed the way I look at this team. Same old style, although I will be trying to post more often. I have been trying to mo...
Long gone are the days where a team stays loyal to it's players. Heck I understand that the NHL that we are in today, you need wins and you need to do whatever you have to do to win. BUT what the hell happened to Respect. So many things are flying through my head right now. But the most obvious is - When we are struggling so much, and having to deal with injurie...

Shanahan to Test Open Market

Posted Wednesday | Comments 0
Larry Brooks, of the New York Post is reporting, Brendan Shanahan has apparently told his agent to consider all open offers. Shanahan told his agent he is tired of waiting for a roster spot to open up with the Rangers. It looks like he will probably not be going back to the Rangers then. Shanahan has always been considered an offensive threat, but as he has aged he has ...

Grit Wins Games

Posted Friday | Comments 0
Powe/Betts: I feel like I didn’t talk enough about Powe and Betts yesterday. For this, I am ashamed. Stars are fun to watch, but grit wins games. Darroll Powe is gritty. As far as important depth guys, he’s top 5 in the conference (I legitimately have lists of things like this that I’ll break out one day when I have nothing else to talk about.) He plays ...
Before J.R. opened his mouth to criticize the Atlanta Thrashers on letting Dustin Byfuglien move back to his native position of defenseman, most likely nobody had a problem with him. In fact, like myself, they were probably Roenick fans prior to his comments made during a recent discussion he was involved in. His words are as follows... “That might be the stupide...
