AN IN-DEPTH LOOK AT HIS CAREER AND THE ARBITRATION HEARING MOVING FORWARD
The Colorado Avalanche and Ryan O’Reilly are facing an arbitration hearing just six days away. The rare ‘club-elected’ hearing was set after the Avs refused to extend a 6.5 million dollar qualifying-offer to the young forward.rnrnIt’s a story that seems all a bit too familiar for the two sides. Just two years ago coming off his entry-level deal, the Avs and O’Reilly were unable to come to terms on a new deal and were halted by a stalemate. The two-year deal worth 10 million dollars was set up in a way that saw him make 6.5 million in the second year. That very same salary set up the qualifying offer, which the Avs didn’t want to extend.rnrnBut why exactly have the two sides been unable to reach an agreement? The Avalanche is dealing with one of the best two-way forwards in the game—the winner of the Lady Byng Trophy. However something hasn’t added up between the two. Let’s take a look back at where it all could have possibly went wrong.

Yeah Colorado should shit or get off the pot.
