The past 24 hours or so have been busy to say the least for the Colorado Avalanche organization. The team that has started the season with a phenomenally surprising 10-1-0 record is looking to face their toughest challenge this weekend. And it won’t just be the Stars and Canadiens.

Goaltender Semyon Varlamov turned himself in upon hearing there was a warrant out for his arrest Wednesday evening. The news stunned not only Denver, but the entire hockey world.

Whether Varlamov did what he’s being accused of is not for me to say. The only thing that matters—until further details emerge—is that the young Russian is traveling to Dallas with the team and is expected to start Friday night against the Stars.

Remember when Patrick Roy got busted for abusing his wife? Guess there is hope for Varlamov, yet if this were the NFL he would be suspended already

The NFL is made up of woman beaters, rapists and murderers. We DONT need this in hockey.

Everyone needs to stop speculating. Just wait for the truth of it all to come out. This could be something bad, it could be nothing. It would not be the first time someone made allegations about a player for personal gains here too gang. Happens even at the junior level! Girl gets slighted and next you know there is an allegation.Varly will deal with it, the team and his teammates are standing by him, and it will play itself out. Seems like it will not be much of a team distraction.
