Calgary scored twice in the third period to win its 17th game of the season. They defeated the Avalanche 4-3 in overtime and their two goals brought their third period total to a league leading 39 goals.
The Avalanche got their starting goalie back tonight but was still unable to play a solid 60-minute effort in front of him. Semyon Varlamov was out nearly three-weeks with a groin injury. He won his last two outings both away from home before the lengthy absence.
