On a Sunday matinee in Winnipeg, the Jets scored twice to win the game but the Avs will need more than just two ice packs in the locker room to attend to the wounds from today’s battle.
The Jets outhit the Avs 27-23 and leading the way was big, rugged, 260 lb forward Dustin Byfuglien with eight. In the middle of the second period Byfuglien laid a hit on Avs defenseman Tyson Barrie that will be on every highlight real around the hockey world for weeks. He lined him up and crushed him into the boards. Barrie was lucky to come out of it completely fine.
