Colorado’s season continues to dwindle after another shutout loss in Denver. The Predators came into the Pepsi Center and put one goal past Calvin Pickard. They would eventually add a couple of empty-net goals to finish off the struggling Avs 3-0.
Pickard was called up to start after Semyon Varlamov once again re-aggravated his groin. It’s the third time this season Varlamov has been sidelined with the same injury. Pickard made 33 saves in the losing effort. The only goal to beat him came from Filip Forsberg just 2:23 into the first period. The rookie snuck behind Barrie and put the puck up and over Pickard for the eventual game-winning goal.
