Bring Darcy Tucker West.

Posted 3:38 AM ET | Comments 8
This blog has been a long time coming. But after reading the ek columns last night regarding the leafs and whether they should clean house or not... then hearing the Flames may be involved if only an e1, doesn't matter, I have to get this off my chest.

I love Darcy Tucker. He's from Alberta, Castor or Byemoor I believe. Anyway, he is a fighter. He's gritty, he can score, and he plays his heart out every time he steps on the ice. Teams hate to play him but love to play with him, he's one of those kind of guys.

I've blogged before about how much I miss the Flames of 03-04. Not necessarily the players but the style and the work ethic. It all seemed to fade away after game 6 of the Anaheim series. You look at the players that were part of that run that are no longer with the team. Guys like Chris Clark and Blair Betts. That's the kind of players we miss. The guys that would go into the boards with one goal in mind, to come out with the puck. We added Owen Nolan, who plays like that. But it hasn't rubbed off on the rest of the guys yet.

So, we wouldn't be able to send any defenseman in a deal because we don't have anyone else to bring up. And Toronto would look for talent in return so who would that be? Can't send Lombardi and Tanguay would likely be too expensive so that would leave Huselius and Conroy and maybe some prospects or something. I'd send either one of those two in a heartbeat in order to bring in Tucker.

On a side note, Nystrom's play has been a welcome surprise and a much needed one at that.

Needless to say, you can consider this my official "Bring Darcy Tucker West" campaign. It seemed like enough campaigning from fans brought Conroy back to the city, maybe if I get this out there, it'll get Tucker here as well...

How amazing would it be to see his bloody, snarling face scoring goals and mucking it up in the Northwest. One can only hope...

Tucker is the type of guy you hate to play but love on your team.I would kill to see him a Sabre.

tucker is a whiny cheap shot artist. who, not to mention has been invisible this year, when he hasn't been hurt that is. i'd love to get kaberle in return for tanguay instead. flames could really use a fast skating dman who can move with the puck (only one we have right now is phaneuf).

That used to be Darcy Tucker, but not the one we have seen this year! I have a feeling he wouldn't pass a physical if he was traded so don't count on it. The story a few weeks ago was a torn ACL, and the Flames won't take damaged goods! Maybe if he gets surgery, he will be back for next season.

You want to give us Huselius or Conroy for Tucker!!! Are you NUTS! Why the hell would Toronto want either of those players. How could you even think those players would help us. Our offence is not the big problem...it is obviously our defense. I'll tell you what...we'll give you Raycroft, bell and Kubina for Iginla...Do you think that sounds fair???? I thought not!!! I think we'll keep Tucker!

Wouldn't happen. Tucker has a NTC and a 5 year contract worth 4 million per season

Tucker has a 4 year deal at $3 million a year, BTW

you haven't watched the Leafs this year, have you? Tucker looks like a shadow of his former self and hasn't demonstrated the energy that was his trademark for years. He has 4 years at $3 million per. I'd gladly trade him to you, but Conroy is a bit of a joke for return, getting older and slower while not shedding salary is not what the Leafs are looking to do. Huselius is talented, but definitely won't cure what ails the Leafs, he looks more disinterested than some Leafs at backchecking. Prospects and picks are what the Leafs are looking for and if you don't want to surrender those, don't come calling...
