Fedorov Is First
Sergei Fedorov becomes the first player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame that played for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Federov had a legendary career in Detroit, playing offense and defense. He also played for the Might Ducks of Anaheim, Columbus, and Washington, before finishing his career back in Russia. For me, I only saw Fedorov as an older player in Columbus, Anaheim, and Washington. Congratulations on the indication into the Hall.
Without Wennberg
The Columbus Blue Jackets lose Alex Wennberg to another injury for a couple weeks. Wennberg apparently suffered a foot injury on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks. Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch recently said Wennberg didn't look 100% since returning from his concussion, and could this foot injury be that? As for this loss, this means the Jackets will probably be looking to Rene Borque or Kerby Rychel to play more during his absence. All the best to Wennberg, and hopefully he'll be back soon.
Hunting for Hartnell
Apparently, teams are looking at Jackets winger Scott Hartnell. Hartnell was acquired in a steal last summer by the Philadelphia Flyers. The return was R.J. Umberger. The one team eyeing seems to be Edmonton, as they are still trying to find wingers for their young centers in Connor McDavid and Leon Drasatil. The apparent return package might be former New Jersey Devil defenseman Mark Fayne.
More to come...
