The Calder Cup Finals start tonight, and the Hershey Bears take on the Lake Erie Monsters. This is a matchup between my two favorite minor league teams. Living in Hershey for about 14 years now, the Bears have won two Calder Cups (back to back), and could win another. Living in Columbus for about two years, and seeing the big team and guys that came up to join them, both teams have proven to be my favorites.

Both teams made it further than I expected them to go. Hershey beat the Toronto Marlies, the best team in the American Hockey League in FIVE games. The best team out, just like that. The Bears also defeated the Portland Pirates and the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins. The Monsters swept last year's Calder Cup Champions, the Ontario Reign in the Western Conference Finals. Lake Erie also defeated Grand Rapids and Milwaukee.
Here are the top scorers of each team
C Carter Camper- 15 points in 17 games
LW Jakub Vrana- 13 points in 17 games
LW Chris Borque- 10 points in 17 games
80 points- all time playoff point scorer
D Madison Bowey- 6 points in 17 games
RW Garett Mitchell- 5 points in 16 games
C Lukas Sedlak- 13 points in 13 games
RW Josh Anderson- 12 points in 13 games
D Zach Werenski- 11 points in 13 games
LW Ryan Craig- 10 points in 13 games
C Alex Broadhusrt- 10 points in 13 games
RW Oliver Bjorkstrand- 10 points in 13 games
Looking at the stats, it shows that the Monsters are a more productive team than Hershey in less games played.
For my prediction, I think Hershey has this in the bag based on the amount of success they have. The Bears are more experienced and they have what it takes to win now.
Prediction: Bears in 7
