Both teams have been battling tremendous difficulty for different reasons this season. With the Jackets, an early loosing streak got them down early, followed up with a three month absence to the number one netminder in Sergei Bobrovsky. For the Leafs, they put themselves in a losing position since tanking in December of 2014 to get Connor McDavid. They lost coach Randy Caryle, general manager Dave Nonis, and players including Dion Phaneuf, Phil Kessel. Down the final stretch here, both teams are looking for better draft positioning. For Columbus, they seem content no matter where they fall. For the Maple Leafs, they are looking at 30th and nowhere else.
