As the World Cup of Hockey slowly approaches, the Blue Jackets have been a busy team under the radar.

With the loss of Jared Bednar to the Colorado Avalanche organization, the Jackets named John Madden the head coach of the Cleveland Monsters. Madden is a NHL veteran from the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild; and spent last season as an assistant coach for the Florida Panthers.
Former Jacket winger Rene Borque joins the Avalanche on a PTO as he still attempts to revive his career. Former Jacket defenseman James Wisniewski signed a PTO with Tampa Bay. Former Jacket defenseman Kris Russell remains unsigned.
The Jackets added veteran singer Jarrett Stoll and defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron to PTO's. Both played with the Oilers and Wild in their careers. Stoll also played with the Kings and Rangers; Bergeon played with Montreal and Tampa.
Also, the Jackets extend John Davidson, Jarmo Kekalainen, and Bill Zito to two year deals. All three are very deserving and are leading the Jackets in the right direction.
What are your thoughts on the Blue Jackets?
