This trade deadline was one filled with rumors, and the first I have publicly covered. From a Columbus standpoint, this is the quietest deadline Jarmo Kekalainen has participated in.
There were rumors of Scott Hartnell, Fedor Tyutin, and Gregory Campbell being traded, and all remain in Columbus sweaters. For the players, it means they are safe, for now.
However, the Jackets did assign Kerby Rychel to the AHL, and it may be the same for Rene Borque.
The Jackets also get David Clarkson and Jared Boll back in the lineup after missing action with injuries.
Columbus has resigned Boone Jenner to a two year contact worth $5.8 million. He will be paid an average salary of $2.9 million. Jenner has a career high 22 goals this season. Bonne also has 13 assists for a total of 35 points in 63 games this year. In 166 career games, he has 47 goals and 34 assists for a total of 81 points. The 22 year old was a second round pick in 2011 (35th overall).
What are your thoughts on what the Jackets have done? What are your thoughts on Jenner's contract? More to come…
