Last night, the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets by a final score of 3-1.
Detroit got their first goal in the ten minutes from center Luke Glendening (5th of the season); Riley Sheahan and Andreas Anthansiou earned the assist. In the final frame, the Wings got two goals in five minutes. Captain Henrik Zetterberg scored his 13th goal of the season 7:16 in; Justin Abdelkader and Dylan Larkin earned the assists. At 12:35, Darren Helm scored his 11th goal of the season. Anthony Mantha was my player to watch, and he played 14:25, and put up 2 hits; 2 shots; and 1 blocked shot. Jimmy Howard stopped 27 of 28 shots for a 0.964 save percentage (96.4%).
Columbus got their lone goal in the final minute of the game from Alex Wennberg (7th of season). The power play tally got helpers from Cam Atkinson and Boone Jenner. Oliver Bjorkstrand was my player to watch as he made his NHL debut. The Danish winger was a -1 with one shot on goal with 16:05 ice time. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 19 of 22 shots for a 0.864 save percentage (86.4%).
