Also, the Winter Park is back in Columbus. It was great when I was there for All Star Weekend. Last year, Torts cracked his ribs on the ice. This year, we'll see.
CBJ Game No. 44- Columbus Blue Jackets v. Ottawa Senators
The Columbus Blue Jackets battle the Ottawa Senators tonight in their first meeting of the season.
The Senators hold the final wild card playoff spot, being quite the story for the first half of the season.
Last season, the Ottawa franchise missed the postseason and fired Dave Cameron as their head coach. They hired Guy Boucher as the head coach. And the former Atlanta Thrashers coach Marc Crawford is the assistant coach. Pierre Dorion was named GM of Ottawa as Bryan Murray had been suffering from complications of cancer.
The Sens also lost a veteran defenseman in Chris Phillips to retirement. They also let other guys walk in Matt Frattin, Jason Akeson, Mark Fraser (EDM), and Patrick Wericoch (COL). They also traded Mika Zibanejad to the Rangers and Alex Chaisson to Calgary.
The Senators acquired Derrick Brassard from New York and Patrick Sieloff form Calgary. They also added veteran wingers in Chris Kelly, Tom Pyatt, and Mike Blunden. They also added Mike Condon in a trade with Pittsburgh for a fifth round draft pick as Craig Anderson had been in and out of the lineup to support his wife.
