“I need a new start” said New York Rangers’ center, Brad Richards. Richards is 6 feet tall, 198 pounds. A perfect center man for the Oilers. Sam Gagner, the current 2nd line center is 5’11, 199 pounds could be the idle Left Wing that the Oilers need, or he could be moved for a natural left wing. Oilers pick 7th this year, they can move that pick for an NHL-ready Left Wing. For our Third Line woes, keep Horcoff at center, move Hemsky at the draft for a 3 or 4th defenseman, or maybe a 5 or 6th defenseman, no big deal, is trade value is not that great. Sign Bryan Bickle, a good 3/4th left winger, possibly sign Nik Antropov to replace Horcoff. Ryan Clowe is also another good left wing that can be useful. On Defense, Oilers should sign Striet, a good puck moving defenseman.
And this is what the lines should look like:
Hall Nugent-hopkins Yakupov
Gagner Richards/Ganger Eberle
Paajarvi Antropov/Horcoff Clowe
Smyth Free agent Signing Hartikainen
Streit Schultz (JR)
Smid Petry
Klefbom Schultz (SR)
