You could sense a little uneasiness from Blackhawks fans before the puck dropped Tuesday night at the United Center. In fact, during the warm up one fan told me, “I hope they don’t fall behind early and play catch up hockey the rest of the way.” Unfortunately for him, that’s exactly what they did. And with Semyon Varlamov between the pipes for the Avalanche, they just could not catch up.
The Blackhawks have not lost many games lately, but the ones they have, they fall behind early. Prior to the battle with the Avs, they handed the Capitals the Winter Classic in the early (and late) stages of the game.
