The Boston Bruins played a style of hockey yesterday that reminded me of the Stanley Cup teams as well as the brand of Hockey that we became accustomed to in the early to mid 80's. They came out fighting and hitting and while Washington controlled the play for much of the game, this style of play preventing them from mounting a 6-0 lead as they did Monday night, despite recording the first 9 shots of the contest. The dropped the gloves shortly after the puck dropped and Milan Lucic proved yet again that he is the second coming of Cam Neely. Right after that Brashear and Shawn Thornton had their rematch from Monday...I had to give the edge to Brashear but Shawny held his own.
The B's hit Washington almost every chance that had and I think Shane Hnidy played possible one of his best games as a Bruin yesterday. He was physical and he jumped in the play time and again, while taking care of the front of his net. Bruce Brodreau can complain all he wants about the officiating, he didn't mind it the other night when Power Plays piled up while he kept adding to his 5-0 lead! If think if the B's push around first, they will win on most nights. Let see how they come out today against the Ran-guhs!
