Okay many of us have spoken out in reference to Burrows and Auger and althoug Burrow should've have publicly stated his opinion, I still think it was the right course of action. Finally a player stated what everyone else (fans) thought in how a referee could have it out to a player. Its a darn shame the NHL chose to fine the player and not the ref. Oh well...
In the end does a player want to win the cup or get the highest contract? I know a lot of us want both but at the end of the day what would you want on your resume? I know I would want to be called a winner and a Stanely Cup Champion. I would go with a modest salary and call it a day. Do you think the players realize when they go and max out their own teams cap, their actually hurting their team not helping their team? I know the NHL players don't get paid like the other major sports but truly they still make some good coin. Either way, ask yourself what would you choose?
Is it me, but what is worth more to a team? A win or revenge. I'm not saying Carcillo's actions didn't go over the top but if your team is in the middle of a losing streak would you call up a guy that is known more for his fists or known for his points? I would make sure my team is in the best position to get two points. I just don't understand it these days. Carcillo fought that should've brought closure but know we are going to have to witness a fight filled game instead of a hockey game. That's what I'm guessing is going to happen tonight. I hope I'm wrong because as much as Cote is a great team guy, he's not needed and neither is the minor leaguer the Leafs called up for tonight's game. Win the game that would be any teams revenge.
Did anyone see the game between the Devils and the Rangers? I know I'm a Flyers fan but truly a great night for the goalies. That's the pureness of hockey that I love. The game was exciting with no goals and excellent goaltending. Its a darn shame it had to end in a shootout. I'm still not a fan, sorry.
