Just got back from Czech/USA

First off by far the best game of the World Jrs. so far.

The Czech's came out hard in the first and the US was not ready........at all. The Czech's set the tone for the game and maintained it, unfortunately the tone wasn't enought to keep the oddly lazy and unorganized American squad at bay.

Despite the Czech's playing hard and hitting anythin that moved the Americans just kept coming. The Americans were very sloppy tonight, including McCullom who fed the puck to the Czech numerous times which made for tense moments.

Despite a bad offside call which called back an empty net US goal, the US still pulled out a 4-3 win even with both teams having 27? shots (Sorry i dont remember the shot totals.)

While no Czech really stood out, as they played a great team effort, Kevin Shattenkirk was 100% visible every time he was one the ice, this is the kid that Tavares will be seeing alot of. Cade Fairchild came up huge in this game bailing out poor goaltending and bad passes. Jordan Schroeder continues to carry the US offense while JVR just controls the ice with his size and speed.

If USA can find control organization as a team Canada may have some tough work cut out for them.

Go Canada

On a side note to anyone going to a World Junior Game at ScotiaBank I have an extra USA white jersey given to me. So if your interested I'm looking to sell my unsigend one for $100 or i have a white US jersey signed by 2007 Ottawa Draft Pick Jim O'Brien and Philly Draft pick James Van Riemsdyk for $140. Either msg me through Hockeybuzz or email me @ [email protected].

I can either meet you before the game in Kanata or at the scotiabank place

Ottawa Draft Pick - Jim O'Brien

Number 15 for Team USA, has been a solid PK and shutdown guy so far, and has looked very good so far. He is developing very nicely and should be NHL ready come next season. While he won't be an Offensive Dynamo, he will fit nicely as our 2nd line center or a great young guy to get Heatley the puck.

If your looking for a comparison, picture a younger more talented Chris Kelly or a forward version of Anton Volchenkov.

And on a side not Sens got thier ass handed to them by the Canucks, I apoligize for missing the game but I couldn't pass up 100 level seats to the games today. (For free thnx)

Although that Roman kid is going to be solid, that game just reinforced how soft Euros play. Even the commentators sarcastically mentioned the lack of taking/throwing the body by the Czech team.
