Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin’ star again
There I go
Turn the page
That chorus could not ring more true.
Last year was the worst season in Flyer history, then this pre-season we had the Steve Downie drama, it is time to turn the page.
I’m not going to tell you the Flyers are going to win the Cup, I’m not going to tell you they will finish last again, I actually don’t have the foggiest idea what is going to happen, the only thing I can tell you is the Flyers will be better and much more fun to watch.
This team is tough, NO coming into Philly and getting an easy 2 points like last season. The Flyers will be in your face, they will hammer you, they will fight you, they will keep on you like a buzzsaw.
They say predictions are for idiots, there is no bigger idiot in this world then me so here we go folks, here is my predictions for the 2007-08 season.
You will love Jason Smith, he is the leader the Flyers need.
Mike Richards is going to be a beast, he will be one of the best 2 way centres in the league by year end.
Antero Niittymaki is playing his last season in Philly.
Once again the Fans will get to chant BOOOSSSSCCCHHHHHH through out the arena at some point.
Steve Downie will be back and you will love him.
Danny Briere will not miss a beat.
Jeff Carter will continue to confuse us, I’m not sure he gets it.
Marty Biron will make us laugh, best interview in hockey bar none.
Braydon Coburn will become a very steady young D-man, this will be great for the organization.
Kukkonen will continue to play under the radar of the other 29 NHL teams but he will be loved in Philly.
I am pumped for the up coming season, like I said who knows if the Flyers will be a Cup contender, it’s anybodies guess but they will be fun to watch. Do not turn the page on this team because this will be a great chapter, you can take that to the bank.
Aside from the Downie comment, I don't know that anything you said is that controversial. Still, spot on. Richards was great last night, throwing himself through the goal post and taking the pain. I imagine Parent will be up again and acquit himself well, though I'm afraid it will be due to an injury to a starter. Why do Philly goaltenders rock for a season and then just lose their edge? Boooosh, Cechmanek, Esche, Niity. At least this isn't the Soderstrom/Roussel era, but still. Booooooosh
