Last night the Sharks played in what I think was their best all around game last night against the Wild. Just about everyone on offense was involved with the scoring. The defense played strong, although I did not enjoy the idea Nabokov had to make 37 saves, 17 in the 3rd. The team played well, but they did however, start to fall into that lull in the 3rd period when they are leading a game. They did keep the intensity up though, with Kyle McLaren and Alexei Semenov dropping the gloves in two quality fights in the 3rd.
The team responded the way it had to after Saturday night. They played well against a very good team, and the Sharks seem to be finally finding their mojo at the Tank again. Hopefully the team will continue their play from last night into the next few games coming up. I know there is a talkcast tonight, and I will be calling in as well from the East Coast. So I look forward to calling in and talking Sharks tonight. Peace!
they did play great, and i was scared late in the 3rd with their old style coming out. Good to see McLaren get nice and pissed, semenov really does not have balance, I wanted to see Murray vs Fedoruk. Overall good performance, and kudos to goc marleau bernier line for owning the puck all night
it my opinion it is more of Ron Wilson's style being inflicted on the Sharks. I haven never felt playing straight up defense with no offensive pressure is effective.
I'm not sure I agree with your defensive coaching hit on Wilson, when the D gave up several odd man rushes with a 3 and 4 goal lead. Sharks were on the attack all night driving through the center ice trap and rendering it useless. Good overall game, fun to be at the tank for that game after the Sabre dud.
