Pathetic Effort.

I am going to keep this blog short, but after the Sharks went up 3 to 0, they dissapeared. The effort was pathetic, disgusting, and troubling to watch. Tonight the Sharks looked liked the team all season long, letting Calgary get back into the game, not fighting back, and losing the game at the end.
Everyone on the Sharks after the early lead looked uninterested, bored, and lazy. The Sharks were standing around, and let Calgary win the game.
Good for Calgary to win. They played hard, wanted to win, and desired it more. I respect teams that play with intensity and passion. I wish the Sharks would have tonight.
What bothers me the most, is that tonight looked exactly liked last year against Detroit. An early lead apparantly means to turn it off and cruise the rest of the game.
This is the playoffs, coasting thru 55 minutes of the game will guarantee you a loss.
I hope the players take a good hard look in the mirror tonight and ask if they want to win because right now, it seems like the Sharks forgot what their goal is.
Hopefully a few things get said in the locker room. However the only players that should be saying anything is Clowe, Nabokov, Marleau, and Mitchell. I personally think everyone else was just flat out bad.
Another thing that reminded me of last season, Cheechoo decides to be lazy and tries to chop the puck out of the zone, of course the puck doesn't get out, puck is fed down to Nolan who, of course, scores the GWG.
Lazy efforts, especially after being up early, almost definitly lead to a loss.
Especially when the opposition has the heart, desire, and passion to win the game.

Incredible how just one play - the Sarich hit on Marleau - irrevocably changed the outcome of tonight's game. As happy as I am that the Flames won, they definitely took advantage of a Sharks team that clearly didn't want it bad enough. And hey, I'm obviously not going to be complaining one bit about it, but it's always interesting to read what the other side is saying, especially when I was just about to post my take on the game. Good blog, keep it up.
