What else can be said about that game last night? Bummer we lost in the shoot out but that game was awesome. My brand new puppy was howling (more of a long bark) wondering why I was hopping up and down on the couch as Patty scored with about 3 seconds left, the 3 seconds that the Sharks asked to be put back on the clock.

Patrick Marleau, has gotten even hotter. Last time I saw him like this I think Marco Sturm was still with the Sharks and they had a series of games where Patty tied it or won it with less than 15 seconds left. I have a feeling Patty will stay pretty hot through the playoffs but he will need some major help from some others if we are going deep in the playoffs.

Torrey Mitchell where have you been? I guess all the injuries are a valid excuse; every goal Mitchell has scored has been very pretty. Mitchell is looking like he is playing as he did before the injuries bug plagued him. If the playoffs started a few games ago Mitchell would have been very dangerous as most teams may not pay much attention to him and blown a game or two.

Niemi, is starting to look calmer and calmer, almost to the point I think he may be a keeper. I know many others are sold on him but I am still on the fence. It showed in the shootout that going high glove on him is easy. Niemi will get down too early still.

Clowe has been hot headed recently. This is good and bad, when he is heated he does seem to play stronger, but the down side is he is going to punch people and take a lot of penalties. I'm good with all of this as long as he doesn't break his hands.

Watching the past few games the Sharks have just felt like they are playing more as a team and supporting each other much more than before. The Sharks also have gained some heart and don’t play soft like they used to when they would be scored against late in the 3rd.

I more excited with these upcoming playoffs than I have been for the past few years, the team is going in with a different feel, more of a killer instinct and the soft play may be a thing of the past.

This is exactly how a team is supposed to play....relying on defense instead of offense. In the postseason, defense always prevales. It is evident that the Sharks have bought into this system. I think this team is the best the Sharks have had to go all the way. Finally, there is commitment, accountability and passion. Now, we wait and see...

Hey, any news on Garner? Did he quit blogging?

No clue about Garner. He is there on the buzzcasts but there are not many people listening to those live. We need more Sharks blogs on the hockeybuzz main page. There have been so many things going on and not a peep from Garner or Mark.
