Giants 2 vs. Maineiacs 1
This is going to be a quick entry today...

Opps, I did it again! I watched a junior hockey game pretty well from begining to end, meanwhile just glancing at the NHL contest here and there. Not that I could be faulted after the show that the Giants and Maineiacs put on yesterday at the Memorial Cup tournament.

Lewiston jumped out to an early lead on a goal that I did not see but it must have been pretty because the way that the Lewiston players can skate and handle the puck, there is no way it was ugly.

In the meantime the Giants continued to press throwing shot after shot at Jonathan Bernier but he kept the Maineiacs in the lead until late in the game when Kendall McArdle decided to become a hero, again. Bernier let out an uncharacteristic rebound off of a Brenden Mikkelson shot and McArdle banged it home.

Shortly after the McArdle goal, the Rabbit was on the loose as Wacy Rabbit carried the puck across the Lewiston line with purpose. Rabbit smacked home a bouncing puck in the Mainiacs crease, 2 - 1 Giants not much time left.

This game has the makings for yet another beauty. Neither team can ill-afford to lose this game tonight as both teams have one nail in the coffin and a second one would pretty well mean that their season is done. Plymouth probably didn't play their 'A' game against the Giants on Friday while the Tigers probably deserved better against Lewiston on Saturday if it were'nt for Jonathan Bernier.

Should be a dandy...
