Say It Ain't So Ek?

Willie Mitchell has been mentioned in a possible trade that would send the Canucks defensive stalward back to the Minnesota Wild and the Canucks shedding themselves of the $3.5 million dollar salary. Say it ain't so!

Mitchell is extremely overpaid if you look at him for a complete game but seriously you do not look to Willie for the offensive side of his game. Mitchell's play in the defensive zone and the way he shuts down the oppenents top players Mitchell is worth every penny of the $3.5 million dollars.

Last season I was a skeptic myself but in the end you look at the overall value to the team and Willie needs to remain a Canuck. The only way you can convince me that this is a good trade would be a significant source of offensive talent is coming in return to offset the amount of goals that Mitchell prevents.

I know one man that will not like the sounds of this possibility ....Roberto Luongo?

Say it ain't so....

I sure hope this is just a rumor and nothing more, Willie Mitchell was probably the best defensemen for the Canucks going down the stretch and into the playoffs, it'd be a big loss if he were to be traded. Take Mattias Ohlund instead.

Don't take either. Ohlund's pressence has been under the microscope for a sub-par season, the first of his career.

I'd gladly have the Wild take Mattias Ohlund! Mitchell won't go back to the Wild unless the deal is VERY sweet. He left with a bad taste in his mouth and, on top of that, he's being groomed as a future captain of the 'Nucks.

I wonder if the Sharks are still after Ohlund, probably not, but I heard some rumors about a possible trade that would bring Patrick Marleau to Vancouver in exchange for Ohlund.

I doubt they will trade within the division.

I don't see why they wouldn't trade within the division. The Wild seem to have no trouble trading within the divsion, why would they not trade back in?
