Come Treat Yourself To Some Real Hockey...

Tonight the Vancouver Giants and Medicine Hat Tigers renew their rivalry for the 8th time in since May 4th. If this were the Vancouver Canucks meeting the Minnesota Wild for the eight time in less than a month I would be extremely depressed. Fact of the matter is, these two teams hate each other and they love telling each other that they hate playing each other...does that make any sense.

You see the WHL, rather the CHL, has something that the NHL lacks and that is pride. These players play for each other, they play for their fans, the play because they don't make a $1 million dollar siging bonus unless they put it all on the table.

The Giants and Tigers faced each other seven times in the WHL Championship series with the Tigers winning the series in double-overtime, game seven and in one of the most memorable hockey games I have ever had the previlidge of watching. The action was intense, there were players bodies flying everywhere, end to end action, great saves and each individual player was playing for one another. The officials were excellent (as they have been in the Memorial Cup tournament) allowing players to play the game, there were very few phantom calls as per Gary Bettman's 'My NHL'. You want to see a game that is wide open and high-flying tune in tonight as the Giants and Tigers go at it at least one more time.

At stake is a bye into Sunday's Championship game....need I say more?

If you can't get this game on your local cable or satellite provider, check the CHL website. They livestream the games for a cost of about $6.95 CAD per game or you could paid for the entire Memorial Cup Tournament form about $40.00 CAD.

With the latest bone-headed move by the NHL, you will not see any hockey until next Monday. I will never understand Gary and the boys in New York, first NBC stiffs you and then you allow them to dictate your schedule (Can't wait til the NHL Playoffs are over). With that being said you might as well treat yourself to some hockey with heart.
