Jhonas Enroth became the first goaltender in NHL history to have his first two wins decided by a shootout. He came close to making it three, but the Sabres were defeated 3-2 in overtime by the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
The Sabres never had the lead, but were able to earn a point in the second game of a back-to-back set. Former Sabre Martin Biron received the start in net for the Rangers. Henrik Lundqvist was ruled out because of the flu, but was available if needed.
Biron finished the night with 29 of 31 stops. At the other end, Jhonas Enroth stopped 25 of 28, and kept the Sabres in the game with some key saves.
Artem Anisimov had two goals on the night for the Rangers, including the game-winner in overtime. With less than a minute to go in the second period, the Rangers regained the lead with a goal from Artem Anisimov.
