Buffalo, NY • United States • 23 Years Old • Male
Since the Buffalo Sabres are coming upon its 40th anniversary season, I decided I would reflect on the past 39 years of the team's history. The franchise began in 1970 and the Sabres have made two Stanley cup final appearances, but lost both of them.

The Sabres have given the fans in Buffalo great entertainment. However, fans are becoming restless as Buffalo remains without a Stanley Cup. Through the 39 years the team has experienced ups and downs and has seen some great players develop and play for the blue and gold.

I decided to come up with my personal 40th anniversary team. The team is made up of the ultimate Sabres lineup that has players from every decade.

Martin, Perraeult and Robert famously known as the French Connection) are on the 1st line on this team. They totaled 1116 goals throughout their careers.

Crazy (and sad) that the first two paragraphs pretty much describes both our franchises.

didn't go to your site, but here goes......Rick Martin, Gilbert Perreault, Alexander Mogilny...coulda went with the french connection as a whole, but it's hard not to put mogilny up top...speed and a lethal shot...the damage he did in 92/3 was sick...

Dave Andreychuk, Pat Lafontaine, Rene Robert

Craig Ramsay, Don Luce, Danny Gare...was a tough call here between gare and ric seiling...seiling was a great two-way forward who played in buffalo a long time and if you wanted a pure checking line, he'd have been in

Vaclav Varada, Michael Peca, Rob Ray...loved varada...remember when he was traded...thought it was a class act by the sabres to ship him to a contender (ottawa, no-less)

honorable mention: Ric Seiling, Mike Foligno

on d: Jim Schoenfeld, Mike Ramsey...ramsey is underrated, imo...the guy was rock-steady and blocked shots like nobody's business

Phil Housley, Bill Hajt...pure offense and pure defense...hajt is the definition of defensive-defensman
August 8, 2010 10:35 AM ET | Delete
Jay McKee, Jerry Korab...tough choice between korab and brian campbell, but had to go with "king kong"...brute-size and a heavy blast from the point

honorable mention: Brian Campbell

in goal: "The Dominator" and Don Edwards
