Pyatt Delivers! Thank you ...SOOOO MUCH!

The Dallas Stars really took the game to the Canucks in the first two periods, and just as the Canucks started to come on the Dallas Stars were able to net a power play goal late in the second period.

As I sat here during the second intermission I wondered to myself, can we do it? The Canucks were outplayed in the first and just as they started to come on in the second, the Stars score. Who in the Canucks line-up was playing well enough to score? Where the Stars going to tighten up and not allow the Canucks to gain the offensive zone. I know, I was totally over analyzing it, especially for some one who is not in the dressing room. However, this is hockey and I love hockey and this is what I do while I watch hockey.

Then as the third period began I noticed something, there was a little more heart, a little more desire, a second gear that the Canucks managed to find. Luongo, was not so busy in the final frame cause the Canucks were working hard, and working together. Then the youngster Jannik Hansen gets the puck in the slot and with a wicked wrister to the net, rebound Jan Bulis, tie game! Wow!

That's not all, the Canucks kept coming, shift after shift, players were making the plays that you are suppose to make in the playoffs. As the third period wrapped up the Canucks had outshot the Stars 17 - 4 and Dallas was looking tired. The problem was, there was now a 20 min break between periods. Is it enough time for Dallas regroup? Who is going to score? Who will be the goat? How long will this game go?

Overtime began with the Canucks stagging an impressive offensive attack and the Stars back on their heels. Then it was the Stars turn to have a shot at Luongo, who once again stood on his head for his teammates. Just as I was settling in for a long evening of hockey (I grabbed yet another cold one from the fridge) Pyatt scores! Wow!, what an up and down evening. Despite the slow start and the Stars consistent running of Luongo (more on that tomorrow), the Canucks have pulled on off.

I entered this evenings game wondering if the Canucks had it in them to win. I am a solid supported but I am also very objective. The way the Stars had handled the Canucks in the first two games of this series, it would not have surprised me if the Canucks came back from Big D trailing the series three games to one.

Winning game three takes a ton of pressure of the boys heading in to game four. Not to say that you would want to take your foot off the pedal but it will be a lot easier for me (as a fan) and them as players to walk into American Airlines arena on Tuesday thinking the worst that could happen is we come out of here tied.
