So the Latest from the NY Post has the Rangers walking away from Sean Avery. Are we missing something? Does Aves have pics of Sather in Marv Albert gear? Did Sather have his heart set on dating the Olsons? Well it looks like the closest Glen will get to one of them, is watching his Full House DVDs on the plane. What makes this situation even worse is that it looks Long Island will get a little more Hollywood. with Mike Comrie already dating Hillary Duff,Avery could be bringing both his A games to the Islanders.
I had written that the Devils could have looked into signing Avery to bring back some of that old Jersey grit. But this is even worse,worse because I said the next team Avery plays for would be my next jersey purchase. An Islanders jersey,ewwwww the thought. Watching Avery in front of Lundqvist for 8 games a year, Sather your on pills brotha!. Avery throwing hits around the Garden wearing the fishsticks logo? Finally Avery shedding every secret of every player in the Rangers locker room on the ice.
This would be a win- win for the Islanders club. They may steal a few ticked off Rangers fans,they grab a few extra headlines from their Broadway rivals,and they get a player who works his ass off. Teddy Nolan would love him ,Garth Snow would love him,and he would give the Islanders a spark other than the stuffed animal Dragon (Sparky). Islanders fans will complain that they don't want him until he scores an overtime goal against his old club or if he throws a big hit on Jagr. Avery will have no other motivation other than to amp up his game 1000 %,to get back at Sather. He fights,he scores, he can play on any line too. Avery can take draws,he can play wing,and he can play special teams. What are we missing Glen ? Could be Avery that's what!
