League Championships Heat Up!

The Sudbury Wolves evened the OHL league championship final with a convincing 7 - 3 victory over the Plymouth Whalers on Sunday evening. Andrew Self and Devin DiDiomete led the way for the Wolves with two tallies each while Matt Dias and Nick Foligno both tallied three assists. The four goal spread was rather strange considering the Whalers outshot the Wolves by a convincing margine of 45-31. With the series now tied at one game a piece, the teams will travel across the border to Sudbury for two games Tuesday and Wednesday.

The QMHL Championship had its second consecutive day off as the teams travel form Lewiston, Maine to Val-d'Or, Quebec for games three, four and five. Game three will take place Tuesday. Lewiston currently holds a two game lead in the series.

Meanwhile the WHL Championship final shifts to the west coast to the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver for games three, four and five. Game three takes place on Tuesday evening and should be a physical affair as the two teams combined for 92 minutes in penalties during game two on Saturday evening. The series is knoted a one game a piece as the Giants look to end the series on home ice.
