I'm trying to made heads and tails out of the injuries that the Flyers have had already this year.
I this will sound like a rant and it very well could be because I'm getting tired of seeing the Flyers constantly have groin and hip problems. Please tell me that the other 29 teams have the same problems year and year out.
When do you start looking at the training staff who treats the players before and after surgery?
Do you think the Trainers have tuned up their bodies so type that they can snap like a rubber band at any moment?
Do the Flyers (easy with the comments) just pick up and sigh "soft" players without doing their homework?
I really don't have too many answers but it seems as though injuries come and go but simply the Flyers can not make the disappear. Plus, some responsibility needs to fall on the training staff because something is going on to not allow the players to heal 100%.
I remember Pat Croce being a fitness freak and at the same time the teams he took care of continued to have a rash of injuries. Is there a connection?
Anyway...
Dude, I don't know what's going on but it is starting to drive me nuts. Every year multiple people have groin/hip/abdomen problems. This season is starting to get old already. Ugh.
that's where i'm at...they had a week off in the BEGINNING of the season and now the same old injuries are popping up again (no pun intended). Somewhere down the line you have to start looking at the training staff and the ice people. They did get rid of Lemelin after all these years....McCrossin should be next
Both guys have been surgically repaired and it just takes time for the body to heal and grow back to 100 percent. Likley years for some stuff. Though Gagne's condition seems troublesome.
Most of the time the injury is nowhere near the groin. It's a ploy. If a player is listed as having a spraigned wrist, how many players will take slashing penalties just to cause him pain? But if he has a "Groin Injury" it is against "the Code" for players to go after his injury.
you want to see injuries... look at the Jays starting pitching this year... ;-)
These injuries are definitely troublesome. The only good news of all this is that it is still early in the year and not in April. That being said, I dont know why these types of injuries happen year after year with the Flyers. I wonder if its the ice? Or given these two players have histories of groin/abdominal injuries. Combo? Who knows, but its definitely frustrating! UGH
I wonder if the ice at the practice rink is poor and keeps these guys getting hurt year after year.
IT is the players fault -- Jim McCrossin is WIDELY RESPECTED across the league
A mirror to what is happening out west in Vancouver...
It does seem to happen every year. Not being a trainer or doctor, I can not say that the Flyers staff has an issue or is negligent. I do know that the Flyers seem to lead the world in re-injuries, though.
