Thank God the season is here!!!!
As I write this, we are 10 hours and 56 minutes from me seeing the Mighty Van Halen at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Expect me to be somewhat giddy.
-Ok, Downie got 20 games. I think that is a bit harsh, considering hits by Colby Armstrong, Darcy Tucker, Brooks Orpik and Chris Pronger got a LOT less in terms of punishment-if any at all. Still, if 20 games is to become the standard for headshots, I am fine and agreeable with it. Downie deserved a lengthy suspension, regardless.
-Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaff seem to have pick up right where they left off. These two could be the nucleus of the next great scoring line in the NHL, if they aren't already.
-Speaking of the Ducks, the thing that got the biggest amount of cheers was a fight....hmmmmm, maybe fighting could draw more fans in the US as well....Nahhhhhh!!! Americans hate violence.
-The Phillies completed a remarkable run to the NL East crown yesterday. Props to Tadahito Iguchi, the team's back-up second baseman. There's a photo of him pouring beer over should be MVP Jimmy Rollins and he's wearing a pair of swim goggles!!! THAT, my friends is GENIUS!!!
-Oprah is going to turn her show over to men today, notably Derek Jeter and Ben Gordon. No comment, except to say please don't watch it.
-Has Danny Markov signed in Russia yet? Can HE get a symbol so we don't have to type "Danny Markov" every eight minutes? I suggest {&}, simply because everytime we see his name it's Danny Markov and_________ are talking.
-How did Phoenix get over the salary floor?
That's it for now. I have to pack my cooler and food for my Tailgate session at the Wachovia Center. If you're going to the Van Halen Show tonight look for me and Number 23 in the lot. I'll be the guy wearing a HB hat and Danny Briere jersey.

The Phillies have given me reason to smile, no pitching but mighty sticks.Love the Iguchi picture, anytime you can get on swimming goggles and not be anywhere near a pool is great.I hope DLR doesn't have a heart attack on stage.

The goggles stunt is a rip off of what Reyes had on last year. As for your Phillies, congrats my man. They wanted it alot more then the Mets. Good Luck!
Have an awesome time at the show JS!
Don't know whether this will post JS, but have fun. (Has anyone been able to post to MHB these past few days?)
hey jsaq - did you get to see the flyers last preseason game? smith was feisty. fought two people who took exception to good checks he put on people. he is going to be one hell of a flyer.
