Bringing Hexy Back • 42 Years Old • Male
This evening, I find myself in Medford NJ. T-minus 10 hours until Van Halen tickets go on sale for Philadelphia. I will be going with fellow HockeyBuzzard Number23 and my brother. Look for us, we'll be the two fat guys standing next to the drunk guy in really good shape.

-Rick Tocchet got two years probation, which is pretty much what first offenders in the state of New Jersey get for not cutting in the state's interests when they bet on sporting events. Tocchet might be exonerated by the law, but he should not get off so lightly with the NHL. Anyone stupid enough to be suspended for running a gambling ring that PARTICIPATES in the World Series of Poker should be too stupid to have anything to do with the NHL-well, that would probably ban the present commisioner...Hmmmm, I'll get back to ya on this one.

-In other gambling news, Tim Donaghy-disgraced NBA ref- faces 25 YEARS. Supposedly, he's going to give details of the gambling habits of his former co-workers. Umm, this shouldn't be news. NBA refs haven't been calling the games right since the league decided Larry Bird's whiteness was a good reason to let him get away with anything and turn a very good player into a legendary one.

-Mike Vick, the guy that tortured and killed dogs, ran an interstate gambling ring on an illegal sport and oh, yeah, financed the whole thing, is pondering a plea deal that reportedly recommends at least one year in jail. Wait, Donaghy faces 25 years and Vick might get ONE? Yeah that's mock outrage. The most Vick faces is six years anyhow.

-Enough stupid American sports news.

-Great job by Lou Lamorello to re-sign Paul Martin. I keep waiting for the other Devils shoe to drop. I don't see Dainus Zubrus replacing Scott Gomez. I don't see anyone to replace Niedermayer, yet and they need to do a better job of helping Brodeur.

-I have been an anti-Peter Forsberg guy, but my bet is he'll be a Flyer when he returns. The team has ignored a few easily signable options as 4th line centers and appear ready to start the year with Ryan Potulny-who isn't a great fit-in that role. They also have been adding guys that can score goals, but precious few that are playmakers. Maybe by US Thanksgiving, the Flyers are asking Jason Smith to wear number 6, so Foppa can slide in between Simon Gagne and Mike Knuble, freeing Danny Briere to play with Joffrey Lupul and Scott Hartnell and Jeff Carter to play with Scottie Upshall.

-Alex Ovechkin wins the Richard Trophy, Simon Gagne finishes third, with his first 50+ goal season.

-Scoop Cooper might not be a good typist, but he's a Machiavellian trivia master. Scoop, throw us normal retards a bone, OK?

-If you want to see why 1980's hairbands died, watch Poison's "Swallow This...Live" video. The sound is kind of like a bootleg cassette I have of VH at the 1983 US Festival. This is the kind of stuff on TV at 12:30 AM on a Friday night/Saturday morning.

-My two favorite things in the HockeyBuzz blog threads....those who blast Eklund(apparently the word "rumor" is hard to understand) and those that come to pick fights. It's a sad commentary because HB has a very good and knowledgeable group of posters and a few idiots. Good luck to all the new mods and thanks for not nominating me. I'd suck at that job....

-After seeing some of the new sweaters, I understand why the NHL doesn't want teams to leak them out before September. The word Fugly gets tossed around a lot in my house, mainly because when I curse the wife hits me with a wooden spoon, but it really is the perfect way to describe some of these color by number monstrosities teams are whipping out.

-I'd like to nominate the Baconator as the official sandwich of HockeyBuzz. Also the official artery clogger and cause of early death for several of the chat room regulars. How the Hell does one come up with a sandwich that is 830 calories and has 151 grams of fat?

-Due to a nagging and persistent tingling sensation in the author's left arm, he no longer eats the Baconator.

-Kudos to Flamestr for his great idea to blog about hockey heroes. He's done a great job and hopefully will overcome being a Leafs fan(the Flames were not in Calgary when he was a kid, so he's got two teams....three if the first two are doing bad!!!)

-Wow, took me an hour to write this drivel

-If my XBOX 360 ever gets back home-It had the Red Ring of Death failure and is getting fixed down in TKC land(Texas), I will have a nice reveiw of both major NHL video games, EA Sports' NHL08 and Sega's NHL 2K8. Both will be released on in September.

-Finally, for those hitting the VH Show in Philly, we'll be tailgating. Look for Flyers jerseys and a Hockeybuzz hat. I will post photos on facebook and probably blog the experience for Hockeybuzz. Just a heads-up....

Another excellent edition of the Random Thoughts series Jsaq! As for the Baconator, impressive, but I must say that I just checked the nutrition guide on Wendys.com. Now, I don't do this to be argumentative, I do it to make you aware of a sandwich with far more testosterone than said Baconator. According to the nutrition guide on Wendys.com the Baconator is said to have 830 calories and 51 grams of fat, not 151. I'm sure this was a typo, but I would like to submit to you The Monster Thickburger from Hardee's. This mammoth heartstopper boasts no less than 1410 calories (a full 580 more) and a truly disgusting 107 grams of fat (more than twice the fat content of the Baconator). As if that wasn't bad enough, the good folks at Hardee's decided to throw in 229 milligrams of cholestrol and a whopping 2740 milligrams of sodium. This gem of a burger consists of 2 - 1/3 lb. patties, 8 slices of bacon, mayo, and as if that's not enough they butter the bun for you! Again I'm honestly not trying to argue, as the baconator is truly a nice suggestion, but in this go big or go home society, if we're going to do this we might as well go all the way...right?

151 was a typo. As for the Hardee's we lack those here, but that ain't a sandwich, it's a cow with a bun.

For breakfast I would like to nominate the Big Omelet Sandwich at BK. Readily available for everyone world wide. It boasts 730 Calories, 410 from fat, 330 mg of Cholesterol, and 1940 mg of sodium. I truly beautiful foundation for a day spent at the computer. I saw VH in 84 at the spectrum. Unfortunately my first concert was a KISS show in 1976. I still haven't recovered from the contact high i got that night with my cousin and her friends at age 11.

I wasn't sure if they had Hardee's down in your area or not. I live up in the Reading area and we have one here. Obviously not as wide spread in this area as Wendy's so I guess for convenience sake we can with the Baconator ; )

Mayor, that's the one I saw. Funnything is, I was 11 and my cousins dragged me to that show. Why do cousins enjoy ruining 11 year olds in Philly?

As for Hardee's vs Wendy's I go with the Baconator because it's also in Canada. BTW, the BK Breakfast mess can be the official breakfast smmich of HB, as far as I am concerned. Nothing starts the day like a cardiac arrest caused by 3 dozen eggs, a croisant and a half pound of hog anus.
