Some Thoughts on the Series

It is widely publicized how evenly the Stars and Canucks match up. Excellent defense, not-so-much offense, and top-notch goalies! The series may very well go seven games with multiple overtimes in each. There will be some late nights in Dallas and extremely late nights in Vancouver...at least for us Texans! It is my opinion that in order for the Stars to win this series, they must find the net behind Mr. Luongo, and Mr. Turco must carry his regular season brilliance into the playoffs. Everyone knows Marty is one the best regular-season goalies ever but has failed miserably in the playoffs. Luongo has proven he has the capability of carrying a good team to the playoffs, but he is untested in the playoffs. There is a very real possibility that Luongo could struggle just like Turco has...no one knows yet. The Stars have a team that is frustrated from horrible performances the last two years and lack of offensive production this year. The difference this year is that we don't have the Arnott's and Guerin's expected to score. We have guys like Ribeiro and Hagman who work their butts off to score! (No offense Billy and Jason). The Stars just might find the net early and often! And let us not forget about #9...he had a smoking hot finish to the season! The question is, "Will Marty put aside his past struggles and carry his regular season into the playoffs?" If he can do this, we will go deep into June! Go STARS!
