What a fun and excellent start to the post-season for the Dallas STARS and their fans! I'm quite certain not even the players expected that type of domination in Game 1 against the Stanley Cup Champs; certainly not against a well-rested Pronger, Selanne, and Scotty Niedermayer. But as they did against the Ducks throughout most of the year, the Stars handled the physical play and took advantage of the reckless penalties. Good work men...great start!

The last game of the regular season for Dallas, against San Jose, might well turn out to be the catapult they needed to regroup just in time to go deep this year. Seeing the Stars fight back, take up for each other, and eventually come back and win that game reminded us all of the team that won 13 of 15 games in February and scored more goals than any other team in the West but Detroit. In the lunacy that was that game, the Stars showed they could withstand the physical punishment and STILL win the game! Not a good sign for Anaheim!

Kudos to Adam Brady for an extremely fair and unbiased game summary on the Ducks' official website. Really, a breath of fresh air for game summaries coming out of Southern Cal! Quite unlike the San Jose Sharks "Staff" writers...their writing is so biased and poor, they do not even put the writers' name to it! http://sharks.nhl.com/tea...NewsPage&service=page

But I digress...

Let's just hope the young man did not pick the 3 stars of the game. In a game where Dallas COMPLETELY dominates from the net out, Brad May gets the 2nd star of the night? LOL!!! Furthermore, the official NHL website game summary does not even list the name of the person who picked the 3 stars of the game! What a joke! So allow me to tell you the 3 stars of the game...

#1 - Marty Turco - 23 saves and 4th shutout in last 8 playoff games (3 of 4 on the road, an unbelievable stat) - that monkey is hanging on by his fingertips!

#2 - Brendan Morrow - 1 goal and 2 assists - big hits - the Captain leading the way

#3 - could be Mike Ribeiro, Jere Lehtinen, Loui Eriksson, or several others...but I'm giving it to Steve Ott - opening goal - big, LEGAL hits - the spirit of this team

My friends and I agreed that the playoffs started for Dallas on April 6th against the Sharks. Since then, the Stars are 2-0 and playing like the team we know they can be. Marty has been stellar, the defense solid, and the team is scoring goals! If they keep working hard and playing smart (and they must), who knows...they might just come back to Dallas up 2-0!

BELIEVE!

GO STARS!!!

The enemy (Stars) of my enemy (Ducks) is my friend. Go Stars!

How ca you say the Ducks were misguided? They had no one or nothing leading them.

They were led (astray, I might add) by their previous/current style of play. If they are going to play that overly aggressive and overly physical style, they MUST kill off their penalties. They are a talented team...but so is Dallas...and if they both keep playing like they did in game 1, this series will be over in 4!

Uh, it might help too if they don't stand around and watch the Stars play. Hell, Lehtinen was left alone in the slot for an eternity before he scored. You can't draw conclusions after that game. If the Ducks are that unmotivated tonight then yes, the series will be over.
