What a series! Easily the best final round in several years...filled with tons of hitting, scoring, saves, and old-school hockey! The Ducks were deserving of the Cup and did not hesitate when they had the opportunity to wrap it up. It was quite an impressive performance and a helluva way to claim the prize...especially in front of the home crowd. Giggy, Selanne, the Niedermayers, Pronger, and most every other player on the team contributed to the Ducks' amazing run...but Getzlaf, Perry, and Penner were the catalysts. That line may score 100 goals next year...it will be fun to keep an eye on! For a while on NHL.com, there was a picture of the trio with the Cup...quite appropriate! Daniel Alfredsson's performance was one for the ages...both in the playoffs and the finals...but he had no help. He earned a few points of respect back for his performance and especially during the handshake. Thanks to both teams for such an exciting and awesome Cup finals!

The Dallas Stars announced today that they have re-signed Stu Barnes to a 1-year deal worth $900,000. He had the opportunity to test the free agent waters but chose to stay in Dallas. Keeping him here was an important priority for the Stars...he plays a pivotal role on this team. Stu is an excellent leader on and off the ice, and can be used in every situation. Great start to next season!
