-Center Ice is the greatest invention in the history of mankind, even ahead of the Polio Vaccine and the internet. OK, maybe not as great as HDTV, but still pretty damned good.
-Talk about interesting times to bust out. The Flyers Jeff Carter and Mike Richards are scheduled to be RFA's next summer and both are off to stellar starts. The team will have some cap dancing to retain the two, as well as defenseman Braydon Coburn, also a scheduled RFA.
-Who do you think is the worst PxP team in the NHL? My vote goes to Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin of the Capitals. They helped make a underwhelming game between the Pens and Caps utterly unbearable Saturday. Feel free to chime in here with your own.
-Speaking of bad PxP, I thank my Deity daily that Joe Buck doesn't do pucks.
-It's nice to see an underrated-well maybe just overlooked-guy like Brian Rolston seemingly find a permanent home in Minnesota. Rolston's a guy I always liked, even when he was a member of the rival Devils.
-As inconsistent as NHL refs can be, they are nowhere near as bad as MLB umpires with their strike zones. The guy working the plate in Game Seven of the ALCS was all over the place.
-Actual Stat: 19.5 %
-I am thankful that the NHL Network is FINALLY available in the US, but what is with all the classic games that the Flyers were on the wrong side of? C'mon give us Tim Kerr's five goal playoff game, or time they held the Rangers to like 9 SOG in the 1997 playoffs. Bobby Nystrom scoring that goal is burned in my head, OK? I don't need to see it EVER again!!!
-Kudos to the XM 204 line-up of shows during the day. I rarely change the station on my unit. Nice to see the bounce back after a disappointing summer schedule.
-Bob Hartley paid the price in Atlanta for Don Waddell's horrible work this summer. Not to mention at the trade deadline last year.
-Have I mentioned that Center Ice is a wonderful thing?

I completely agree on hartley Js even though I am not a big fan Atlanta did nothing at the dead line at last season. And I love center iceFlamestr
NHL Network is sweet...Awesome as great as center ice...Very glad it's free with center ice, as I couldn't imagine another $5 a month to my already outreageous cable bill for it
Center Ice is awesome! i've had it every season since the lock out, because after the first year i haven't been able to live without it. By far the worse 2 play by play guys are the 2 castaways from queer eye for the straight guy cast in carolina. They know nothing about hockey and are complete homers. The guys in washington were pretty bad in that pens/caps game. Could they talk about gonchar anymore during that game? i'm starting to believe staggy in pittsburgh is making a run at the throne. the pens need mike lange back on tv.NHL network is hot though, especially since comcast is giving the sports tier for 1.99 a month for a full year. wish that came free with the center ice package like dtaild's though.
I saw the Bobby Clarke overtime winner in game 6 on a couple of weeks ago on Classics. That was pretty awesome.
How nice to be in a position where the Flyers have to "worry" about re-upping their two young stars who are playing like young stars! Richards and Carter are the heart and soul of this team and should be in O
The only thing I can't stand about Center Ice is you barely get to see the Philly side. I think they only had two or three Philly perspectives last season. Other than that. I love Center Ice too. Nice blog.
Worst play by play man...MIKE EMERICK. He has the worst VOICE in all of sports! Anyone but Doc...PLEASE!
Wish that my cable company would provide some of these Center Ice games in HD. Least favorite play by play man for me is a toss up between Joe Benninatti (dont know or care if I spelled that right) from Washington and the guy in Boston.
Thanks for blog JS. Meanwhile, we need Center Ice in HD (supposedly coming to our area Comcast). We need the NHL Network (also supposedly coming to our Comcast). (And we need it in HD). Too many supposedlys for me. C'mon Comcast...light it up!
Carolina's pxp guys are by far the worst. No clue what so ever. They are blatent homers, how about a little professionalism guys? You're broadcast goes beyond Raleigh.
