Well...not quite the same verse (it would have to have been a shut out to do that) but it was close enough as Dan Ellis led the Preds to a 4-1 victory on the road tonight against the Edmonton Oilers. Once again Ellis made some huge saves at critical times...the toe save against Hemsky when the game was knotted at 1-1 was very big!
Great play tonight from Arnott and Legwand as these two guns are starting to fire and put the puck in the net. This is a great sign for the team. Radek Bonk also added a a nifty goal to give the Preds the two goal cushion when he stole the puck away and beat Oiler goalie Garon on a breakaway.
Solid play overall again tonight from the team. Saw a couple odd man rushes tonight but still much better than it was back during the losing streak. I was a bit confused on the pairing of Zidlicky and Suter. In my opinion these are not the surest puck handlers to have out there at the same time. They will both jump up on the play but at times can be a bit clumsy with the puck.
Preds have chance to get back to .500 when they visit Chicago on Sunday night. Chicago is not the same team that we have beat up on the last couple of years. They are loaded with some bright young players who will do their best to give our D fits. I guess the question for now is whether or not Ellis continues to get the starts?
ellis better start
im not giving up on mason ,but we have to play the hot goalie.
Looking forward to watching the Hawks' young stars play their style of hockey. It will be interesting to see how we adjust to Chicago's "new" team.
We got ourselves a new starting goalie. For now. He could start crapping the bed and we'd need Mase to be Mase again.
