*Please take a moment to pray for the people of the south today following last nights horrific storms that have left at least 26 dead in Tennessee alone. In moments like this sport seems so insignificant.
Great win by the Preds last night. I was unable to attend as I came down with a severe case of strep throat (yup 35 years olds can catch it too!). My paretns were at the game last night and apparently they were held inside the building at the conclusion of the game for a few minutes to allow a storm system to pass through downtown Nashville.
It was nice, however, to sit at home and listen to the guys on Versus call the game. The said the the Arnott, DuMont and Radulov line might be the "most lethal in the league!" Nice props for a line that has really come together and is putting up some monster numbers.
Great game by Chris Mason who out dueled Carolina goalie Cam Ward to get his fourth shutout of the year.
Preds are in Hossa sweeps? According to Ek the Preds are among teams vying for the talented winger. Hossa is an electric player and would give this team another potent weapon. I've often thought of the players that are out there Hossa would bring the most electricity to the Sommet and help fill the seats. The question is what would the Preds have to give up in return?
Most lethal in the league? Awesome!I wanted to record the game, I love to hear what the national broadcasters have to say about us since we get so little exposure. Wish I had the chance to set up the recorder, but the Town Hall meeting was a bit more important.
I don't want to give up the future for any trade. I think David Poile pretty much has said as much, at least that's how I read his statements. We keep our core players (room for speculation there as to who constitutes "core" in the minds of management), we don't give up those development players that are vital to our future, and we don't throw away valuable draft picks (especially for a "rental").
If they do trade for Hossa, he won't be a rental player. They will probly re-sign him along with our own pending free agents.
I say we go with what we have, unless we take a huge dive in the next couple of weeks. Chemistry is sometimes better than skill. See: Foppa.
I totally agree that this deal should not be done without an extension in place for Hossa...we do not need a rental. Totally agree guys.
I think Hossa would fit our team fairly well. Sullivan leaves a glaring gap in our team. Yeah we can score well but a Hossa is far better than Fiddler on that second line. Talk about adding some more pop. They're of similar stature but obviously one is a better scorer. If we don't give up anything of tremendous note (which I doubt we can pull off), then it may not even affect chemistry too much.
