Whoo...That Was Close

With the game in hand and the ice tilted in their direction the Predators let the Edmonton Oilers nearly steal two points in Nashvhille last night. The Oilers scored goals in bunches and scoring three unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead. The Preds answered back seconds later knotting the game at four a piece. JP Dumont finally rescued the Preds in the final minutes and then the Preds held on and took the two points to move into fifth place in the West. Yes...FIFTH place people!

The line of Arnott, Dumont and Radulov continues to hit on all cylinders. Dumont jumped right back in after missing two games with the flu and looked fresh.

Tootoo's goal was beautiful! That line was scrapping and fighting for that goal and the hard work paid off.

Ellis was solid in net and only the fourth goal was soft...he should have had that one. The others were crazy bounces or major breakdowns from the D.

Question to all Pred fans:Eklund and I got into a bit of a debate over Hossa and Richards. Who would you like and why.

Out Of Pocket: I will be out of pocket until at least Sunday as I am out on business...tow huge home games coming up for the Preds. Get down to the Sommet and support the boys.

i like hossa better.he is just more of a diffrence maker than richards.but if we cant get hossa i would definitely take a guy like richards.

I'd prefer Hossa over Richards, he's just a pure goal man; but Hossa allegedly disappears in the playoffs which is great cause for worry. Honestly I'd prefer Erik Cole from Carolina over all, him or Olli Jokinen.

I hope we make zero moves. Keep the chemistry going . . . Tootoo is really becoming a solid contributor. We really need him now.

You can't rely on one line and a handful of sporadic depth guys shooting offhandedly. We have a second line of talented people who just aren't getting anything done. They have tremendous potential though and what will they be able to do if they get a solid two-way guy who can score more often than not?

Zero moves? Really? So our second line is ok as is? Which translates to: almost zero production. I'm not saying sell the farm for a Hossa or Richards, but the w3 DO need a second line scorer, at minimum. One line cannot produce all our offense, especially in the playoffs when teams will key in on that line with everything they've got. A second line scorer would help this team a lot.

I have a feeling that any of the major names being bandied about are going to be VERY costly, and I don't mean just dollars. This GM maneuvering is shaping up to be one hell of "who blinks first" contest. Having said that, I think Hossa might be the preferred one, but it's highly unlikely to happen. Actually, whatever happens, if anything at all, will probably be totally unexpected, off the radar, and out of the blue.
