Who Wants It More?

So now it's a best of 3.

After dominating the first two periods of game 4, and leading 2-1 to start the third, the Penguins did the unthinkable: They lost control of the game, and maybe the series, by surrendering 2 goals in the third period to the Canadiens.

If you had fallen asleep at the end of the second period and woke up at the end of the game, you might not have thought it was possible. But there it was, right there on the TV...Canadiens 3, Penguins 2.

Actually, considering it is the 2009-10 playoff version of the Montreal Canadiens we are talking about, we shouldn't be surprised by anything that happens.

This game had a familiar formula for the Habs...get outplayed (except for your goalie) for most of the game, then create/capitalize on some mistakes and get a win.

At this point, you just can't consider it "luck" anymore.

At this point, my initial thoughts on how this series would play out are proving to be accurate: The Penguins are in a serious battle against an underdog that believes it will win.

And when that's the case, sometimes the other team does a better job at finding a way to win than you do.

As Sidney Crosby said in his post game interview, when commenting on how the game was won..."You can analyze it all you want...it's just the playoffs."

And when both teams believe they can win as strongly as these teams do, you get a series like this.

So Saturday night...we go to the next level.


Some Observations
Malkin skated even better than in the last game...this is a very good sign.

Jordan Staal did not seem to be hampered by his injury...this is a very good sign.

Sidney Crosby is going to break loose in one of these games...you know it's going to happen.

Fleury needs to find his 'A' game for the next two to three games because the guy at the other end is not going away.

Halak, after a shakey start, played a great game. I do, however, think he seems to have some trouble with pucks along the ice and I would recommend that the Penguins practice on keeping their shots low against him. I think shots from the knee down are the key to scoring against him.
