I hope to preview and review each game...as time allows.
THINGS TO LOOK FOR
Crosby's next level? - Can Sidney step it up a notch...and if he does, what affect will that have on the outcome? Can he dominate a game the way Mario used to in the playoffs?
Can Malkin find his scoring touch? - Malkin needs to score for the Pens to be successful. Can he find the goal scoring touch he had earlier in the season?
Which teams 3rd and 4th lines will win the battles? - You can never underestimate the value of the 3rd and 4th lines. They do the dirty work and sometimes score key goals. This series, full of star talent, may actually come down to which team gets better performance out of the 3rd and 4th lines.
PP and PK...what will the impact be? - We have seen though the season series that the PP and PK units can greatly affect the outcome of the game. What role will these play in the series? We will start to find out tonight.
The Roberts Factor - Will Gary make a difference? Will he haunt the Sens once again. Pens fans sure hope so. Sens fans are hoping their boys can overcome the ghosts of playoffs past.
Sens take Game 1, 5-3. I really hope the Pens win...BUT I think this will be a game with more penalties than the rest of the series. The Sens will take advantage of that and score key power play goals. The Sens feel they have a lot to prove, and this game will start them off in the right direction.
Look for a review of the game tomorrow...where I will outline The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...hopefully my prediction falls under one of the last two categories!
