I can't believe it, but I am actually...just a little...excited to watch the Flyers play tonight.
As a lifelong Pens fan, I have been down the "HATE THE FLYERS WITH A PASSION" road more than a few times. Especially in my younger years.
Of course, as we get older (and have finally won a series or two against the Flyers)...we supposedly get wiser...and I have learned that all that hate isn't really good for you. It's better to have a "healthy dislike" than to hate.
The difference being, you can still want to win badly, and do everything within the rules to accomplish it...but at the end of the day, win or lose, you have to move forward...and give respect to those that beat you.
So, as I move forward from the disaster of the Pens game 7 against the Canadiens (MAN I HATE THOSE LITTLE GUYS!!!!...just kidding) I am actually looking forward to the rest of the playoffs...starting tonight with game seven of the Flyers and Bruins.
Whether it's been a tremendous comeback by the Flyers...or a huge choke by the Bruins...I am guessing a little of both...I have a new found respect for a team that can come back from a 0-3 deficit...especially without a true #1 goalie (we won't tell the guys in net they aren't number 1, because they sure have been playing like they are) and with the other injuries to key players on the Flyers side.
So tonight, as I watch the game and pull for the Flyers...it is a certainty that...
History Will Be Made.
(at least in my house!)
