Bernier did a wonderful job at keeping the puck out of his net. With Todd Bertuzzi continuously screening the young rookie kept his cool and was all smiles through the entire game. What's scary about him is that he's so relaxed and this was his first NHL game.
A prime example of this relaxed rookie is when he batted the puck down and just covered it up without being tense. You can tell this kid is immune to high stressful situations. What's more stressful than you rookie debut? other than overtime in the Stanley Cup finals final game, the series is tied 3-3. I don't think there's much else that can be as stressful.
The goal that Bernier let in was a understandable goal. He tried his best other than making his left magically grow another 4-5 inches, he couldn't of done much else.
So here's to Bernier's rookie debut, 1-0-0 in the NHL, what a way to start!
Cheers
