The Blackhawks are looking at Brian Campbell as a possible trade. Willing to trade are Tuomo Ruutu and Cam Barker and also Nikolai Khabibulin. I see nothing impressive with the people they are willing to give up. I would love to take David Bolland off their hands. Besides they have Byfuglien as their offensive defensemen....

Hawks are also trying to go for Liles from Colorado and Kubina from the Leafs.

If you want any of these players, you might want to offer something more valuable onto the table. You have a team full of young guys, broaden your chances by giving a menu.

Mat,Where are you getting your info.? There is no trade talk in Chicago right now. Though if the Sabes are out of it at the deadline, I could see a Campbell for a package of players/prospects deal, if Campbell will agree to an extension. Seriously, I'd like to know where you're getting this specific info. e-mail or pm me, please. If you'll take Bolland straight up for Campbell, I've got a bridge out in San Francisco I want to sell you. But it's a free country. I actually think Kontiola might be the better C down the line. Bolland is on IR, btw.If the Sabes think they can get Barker to develop, then he and Ruutu might notbe a bad package for Campbell. because if Barker devleops, he could be a very, very good d-man for years. Big IF, though.Don't know how Khabibulin could be involved in these talks either. His salary basically makes hm untradeable.

go to www.thefourthperiod.com If you want to say i'm making it up you should redirect your comments to the person who actually stated it. I am moving what they said over to here. Thanks Homer for jumping the gun.

Also Homer if your "friend" plays for them which is highly doubtful, here's a copy and paste of what was said on that site. The Chicago Blackhawks continue to comb through the market in search for a powerplay specialist and an upgrade at the forward position.Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon has been involved in several trade discussions in an attempt to acquire an offensive-minded defenseman.Sources tell TFP the team has an interest in Colorado's John-Michael Liles, Buffalo's Brian Campbell, Tampa Bay's Dan Boyle [currently injured] and possibly Toronto's Pavel Kubina. By the way, behind the scene negotiations and talks aren't leaked to the players all the time. Keep that in mind skipper.

Mat man,Ya gotta chill out. Where's the homerism in my comment? And TFP is probably the ABSOLUTE WORST rumor site on the internet. A bunch of crap pulled off fan boards and week old newspaper articles. I would go to Kukla, TSN.ca or Eklund before TFP. All that said, I apologize f the bridge in SF comment offended you. Wasn't intended. Beyond that. I had people on chicagoblackhawks.com trying to chase me off the boards the other day because I'm too "negative" about the Blackhawks. So which is it? Yeesh! I also said he was a friend of a friend (my friend's his former agent). Skipper, eh? Funny.

To add to what TFP said, Al Cimaglia has also been hearing Hawks rumors in regards to Campbell

Pants— I've been trading comments with Al all week. He's off that now. He doesn't think there's a deal to be made. That said, you never know and the logic is there. I don't doubt that a deal may have been discussed by Regier/Tallon, cuz it kinda makes sense. My point about TFP is they pick up old rumors off places like hockeybuzz. Eklund is reporting this AM that Buffalo is trying to re-sign Campbell still. If Buffalo can't, I'm certain they'll try to deal him before the deadline and I'm certain the Hawks will talk to them. But the whole point of my comment to Mat was, did he have new information? That rumor off TFP is like a week old. Eklund reported it last week. And Tallon has said since the logisitics of any deal aren't right this minute. We'll see.

Title of Al's blog this AM: "No big trades now. Maybe not ever."

Highly doubtful huh, would you like a picture of me and him with the cup? For God's sake why is it so hard to believe somebody would possibly have a friend in the NHL?
January 20, 2008 10:22 PM ET | Delete
Bolland? You can have him.. he's a 3rd or 4th line grinder.. If there is a deal for Campbell, no question Barker will be involved with possibly another player. Tallon won't make that deal unless he can have Campbell signed long term however.. And what is Buffalo going to do with Nik? He has been mentioned in rumors, but I highly doubt it's to Buffalo. I could see Ottawa.. among some others.

Darcy plays hardball... He will hold on to Campbell and get nothing before he gives in and takes junk for him. If Campbell goes to the hawks, I bet the sabres get one MAJOR young player (Toews, Kane, Kieth or Seabrook) in return.

Cleon,Toews or Kane for Campbell. BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA. And monkeys are gonna fly out of my butt.
