Ok so most of the non Rangers fans in the world continue to under estimate their young players. Enter Ryan Hollweg who virtually wrote his own release in game 3 of the Pens series. Although I didn't see the Leafs as an option, Holley will hit and grind it out up in T- DOT. I thought LA or Anaheim would have gambled on the fourth line winger, having been from Downy California. I'm sure Dominic Moore put in a pitch for his close friend from Broadway. The two players were part of a line that included Jed Ortmeyer (Nashville). In fact Jagr stated that it was the best fourth line he had ever played with, very strong words. With some of the Hartford kids knocking on the door and the Rangers need for some size, Holly became even more expandable. With thw 5th round pick aquired in the deal, The Rangers could use this to pad any future deals for top line talent.Anyway he was a helluva locker room guy and even better guy off the ice. Good luck Holly!

Another great move by the Leafs, trading valuable draft picks for yet another spare part.

yeah that 5th rounder will really come around to bite them... ha... Hollweg is a former Captain of the Medicine Hat Tigers and is a gamer. He may only be a 4th liner, but he's one of those never quit kind of guys. The Leafs are getting tougher, something that can help set them apart from the rest of the flimsy east.

Obviously a 5th rounder may not appear to be much, but some of the NHL's top players right now were late round selections, something that appears to be lost on you and Cliff Fletcher.

Big difference in getting a 5th round pick, and using him in packages to get a superstar.

another draft pick gone it seeems . But i like the move though . The leafs are aiming to be once again one of those tough teams to play against that even if you win your gonna be feeling the costs of it the next day . Fletcher is attempting to i think rebuild the tarnished image of the leafs into a once more team you dont want to face .One could argue the lack of draft picks will hurt long term future , but so far fletcher has stuck to still signing young guys and no over the age vets . he knows what he is doing , and will make that sorry excuse of a team a contender

whats the over under for games until Hollweg is suspended?

The Leafs are adopting a Western style of play. San Jose, Calgary, Anaheim. Those are all great teams. I've missed many more, but those are some that stand out.

Hollweg is useless. Fletcher got robbed.

Leafs trading a 5th rounder for a player who actually plays in the NHL i a sweet deal for them... the leafs scouts are so bad that anyone drafted after the 2nd round wont see the NHL anyways... they took dale mitchell in the 3rd round last year (their first pick in the draft), he wasnt even in the top 5 for scoring on the Gens this year, not to mention he is like 5' 5

No one got Robbed. This deal was fair for both sides, with the Leafs grabbing an young active roster player. The surplus of Rangers fowards worked in their advantage and the Rangers obtained a late round pick that they could use to either move with another foward to clear space or use to move up in next years draft. The Rangers still lack another front line wing or sizeable player with skill!

Hollweg is a move sideways at best, that is unless he can rediscover some of his goalscoring skill from his days in junior. There is every chance that somebody pegged for the Marlies may steal Hollweg's roster spot, as he is NOT a heavyweight who can fill the shoes left empty when Belak was moved. He'll get a chance to prove himself, but is likely just a 1 year placeholder until another prospect is ready.

I think Ranger fans everywhere are happy he is gone.......that is all i know............He will provide energy with his old buddy Moore on the Leafs 4th line but big whoop..........Leafs are rough
