That quote comes from another obvious thug, Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows. It was his response to the fierce slash he made on the back of Dallas Stars forward Brendan Morrow's knee, in the final minutes of game 6. The slash caused a twinge in a nerve and caused Morrow to limp off the ice and miss the rest of the game. I'm just curious why Burrows would be so open and cocky about the fact that he would slash another player, at any time, with the intent to hurt them. Last time I checked, slashing was a penalty; therefore, he is admitting to everyone that he has no problem taking a penalty, at any time, even if it might hurt another player. This is yet another example of the lack of respect from way to many players in the league. It is a major black-eye for the sport and must be addressed. With all of the intent to injure this year, I think the league should have few excuses not to follow up on this moronic comment, from a classless punk. I really hope Steve Ott gets a chance to exact retribution with his fists...but I'm sure Burrows the coward will find a way to stay off the ice when Ott is on it!
Step up NHL...it is time to make a stand...not just on Burrows, but all of the thugs that have no respect for other players or the game!
Mountains out of molehills!!!!! Sure, Burrows gave him a slsh, should have been 2 minutes...that's all. Most of the time most players, including Morrow, get away with that slash. Morrow wasn't injured to my knowledge. In fact he didn't even start limping until he saw he couldn't score and the play was over.
Okay guys...lets address the real subject please...is it acceptable for a player to openly and arrogantly admit to breaking the rules...especially when that rule is meant to protect other players?
That play that Burrows describes happens on every powerplay in every game of every season or playoff suck it up.
Morrow going to the bench is something that only happens when a player just goes stupid and has his own personal agenda in mind. Personally I wish he would have not chickened out and ran away the way that he did, then there would be reason for suspension on the play
Well, you Vans just have to wait until tomorrow night when you will get eliminated at your own home ice, and maybe from there you will learn your listen that playing dirty hockey will not take you too far into playoffs. I am sure you will suck it up tomorrow night Luongo07, and your goalie is not looking too good lately.... HINT: Pucks are getting past him.
Dirty or not, we have Vancuver in control right now, and it is gonna be another loss for your team and out of the playoffs tonight at your GM place. What a better place to send your team to their summer vacation than at your home ice.
I hate to assume you are a liberal luogno07, but you seem to be avoiding the issue. Do me a favor...ANSWER THIS QUESTION...is it acceptable for a player to publicly and arrogantly say he is going to break the rules whenever he chooses? Of course rules will be broken from time to time, I agree, that's part of sports. But when it comes to hurting an individual and bragging about the fact that he'd do it anytime...I think that is where you must draw the line.
stop your crying and brace yourself for disappointment. Canucks play better when their back are to the wall. We're taking game 7. Stop your whining about burrows, there was no penalty with two refs on the ice. i've seen a dozen undetected slashes in this series already. And regarding burrows bragging about it, i interpret his comments as saying he didn't feel he did anything wrong. You would only be able to fully appreciate that if you were a player. And thats because there's been lits of slashing both ways, detected and undetected. I'm not saying its right to slash but i have a hard time feeling sorry for Morrow because the Stars have been slashing too. The Canucks are babies about it is the difference! Suck it up, and maybe you can help the stars out by getting their golf clubs shined up nice for them when they come back to Dallas.

LOL...another liberal (?) who can't answer the question! Forget about the players...ANSWER THE QUESTION! Good luck tonight...its gonna be fun!!!
Liberal? I'm actually more left wing conservative. And as for the question ... "is it acceptable for a player to openly and arrogantly admit to breaking the rules..." No it isn't. Is he? I'd have to hear or read his exact quote to make an informed take on it, you should quote properly when quoting someone. It seems from what you said that he doesn't feel the slash was a bad one. It looked bad on camera, and he probably fluked out in injuring him the way he did. Slashes happen, the only reason this one seems bad is 1. it was caught on camera and 2. they showed morrow limping off. I wasn't impressed by burrows but i was just as unimpressed by morrow's attacking our bench. Both can be viewed as black eyes if you ask me.
