The Leafs are six games into the year and fans around the globe are wondering will the Leafs be able to score any goals?. The Leafs have scored a grand total of 11 goals and are on pace for a grand total of 150 goals forward, take into consideration that the Leafs scored 3 goals against Detroit in the season opener and 3 at home against St. Louis so we have 5 in the 4 other games. Well the first thing we need to do is all take a deep breath, the Leafs are not as bad as the scoresheet is showing and could have easily gone from 1-2-3 record to a 4-2-0 record if they were to have won the three shootouts that they were involved in, but we will cover that topic another time. The big question is do the Leafs have the right line combinations to put some pucks in the net? Who would you like to see on the top 2 powerplay units? The line of Antropov-Ponikarovsky-Stajan looked dangerous last night against Anaheim once they were placed together and accounted for both Leaf goals on the night. That is a line that i would like to see more of over the next few games but so far i like what ive seen. The question is what do you think would be the best line combinations that will generate some goals during even strength situations and powerplay opportunities?
Here is the combinations id like to see:
1. Antropov-Stajan-Ponikarovsky
2. Kulemin-Moore-Hagman
3. Mayers-Steen-Tlusty
4. Blake-Grabovski-Mitchell
The Powerplay Top 2 Units:
1. Kaberle, Kubina, Antropov, Grabovski, Kulemin
2. Van Ryan, Colaiacovo, Blake, Steen, Hagman
Would these combinations work? Who knows but it would be a great to see the Leafs not only score but win a game, dont you think?
Graboski should be on the first line, the boy can skate and hold on to the puck well. He will open up a lot of room for the other two. As for Blake he has no business on the power play. His concept of moving the puck properly is absent, and doesn't to understand the one-timer very well. Keep him on the fourth line t'ill hes traded!
did you confuse moore and grabovski
